vidyut chunbakeeya vikirn shoonya (space) evam anya maadhyamon se swayam-prasaarit tarang hoti hai. ise prakaash bhi kaha jaata hai kintu vaastav mein prakaash, vidyutachunbakeeya vikirn ka ek chhota sa bhaag hai. drushya prakaash, ex-kiran, gaama-kiran, radio tarange aadi sabhi vidyutachunbakeeya tarange hain.

  • iske sancharan ke liye kisi maadhyam ka hona aavashyak naheen hai. yeh shoonya ya nirvaat mein bhi chal sakta hai. (jabki dhvani ke liye maadhyam aavashyak hai.)
  • ismein vidyut kshetr evam chunbakeeya kshetr paraspar lambavat dolan karte hain; tatha vidyut chunbakeeya tarang ke sancharan ki disha vidyut evam chunbakeeya kshetr ke lambavat hoti hai.
  • shoonya ya nirvaat mein prakaash ka veg lagbhag 3 lakh kimi/se (299,800 kimi/sekend) hota hai jo ek niytaank hai. koi bhi vastu isse adhik veg se gati naheen kar sakti.
  • anya maadhyamon mein iski chaal shoonya mein iski chaal se kam hoti hai.
  • maanav ki aaainkhein, vidyutachunbakeeya vikirn ke jis bhaag ke prati samvedansheel hoti hain use drushya prakaash (visible light) kaha jaata hai. drushya prakaash ki tarangadairdhya (vebhaleinth) 4000 engastraam se 8000 engastraam tak hoti hai.
  • vidyut aur chunbakatv dono hi vidyutachunbakeeya prabhaav hain.
  • vidyutachunbakeeya vikirn mein oorja evam sanveg (momentam) bhi hote hain. jab ye tarange kisi padaarth se anukriya (intaraikshan) karti hain to padaarth ke anuon (paramaanuon ya elektraan) ko yeh urja aur sanveg pradaan karti hain.
  • vidyutchunbakeeya vikirn ke drushya prakaash ke atirikt anya vikirnon ka upayog kuchh hi dashakon se aarambh hua hai. maanav jab bhi kisi naye vikirn ka pata lagaata hai, sabhyata mein ek kraanti aa jaati hai.
