vasant panchami ya shreepanchami ek hindu tyohaar hai. is din vidya ki devi sarasvati ki pooja ki jaati hai. yeh pooja poorvi Bhaarat, pashchimottar Bangladesh, Nepal aur kai raashtron mein bade ullaas se manaayi jaati hai. is din striyaaain peele vastr dhaaran karti hain.

praacheen Bhaarat aur Nepal mein poore saal ko jin chhah mausamon mein baaainta jaata tha unamein vasant logon ka sabse manachaaha mausam tha. jab foolon par bahaar aa jaati, kheton me sarason ka sona chamakane lagta, jau aur gehooain ki baaliyaaain khilne lagateen, aamon ke pedon par baur aa jaata aur har taraf rang-birangi titliyaaain maindaraane lagateen. vasant ritu ka svaagat karne ke liye maagh maheene ke paaainchave din ek bada jashn manaaya jaata tha jismein vishnu aur kaamadev ki pooja hoti, yeh vasant panchami ka tyauhaar kahalaata tha. shaastron mein basant panchami ko rishi panchami se ullekhit kiya gaya hai, to puraanon-shaastron tatha anek kaavyagranthon mein bhi alag-alag dhang se iska chitran milta hai.

arthaat ye param chetna hain. sarasvati ke roop mein ye hamaari buddhi, prajnyaa tatha manovruttiyon ki sanrakshika hain. hamamein jo aachaar aur medha hai usaka aadhaar bhagavati sarasvati hi hain. inki samruddhi aur svaroop ka vaibhav adbhut hai. puraanon ke anusaar shreekrushn ne sarasvati se khush hokar unhein varadaan diya tha ki vasant panchami ke din tumhaari bhi aaraadhana ki jaaegi aur yooain Bhaarat ke kai hisson mein vasant panchami ke din vidya ki devi sarasvati ki bhi pooja hone lagi jo ki aaj tak jaari hai.[2] patangabaaji ka vasant se koi seedha sambandh naheen hai. lekin patang udaane ka rivaaj hajaaron saal pehle cheen mein shuroo hua aur fir Korea aur Japan ke raaste hota hua Bhaarat pahuaincha.[3]

pruthveeraaj chauhaan ne is baar bhool naheen ki. unhonne tave par hui chot aur chandabaradaai ke sanket se anumaan lagaakar jo baan maara, vah Gauri ke seene mein ja dhansa. iske baad chandabaradaai aur pruthveeraaj ne bhi ek doosare ke pet mein chhura bhaunkakar aatmabalidaan de diya.
