uttarameemaansa chh: bhaarateeya darshanon mein se ek. uttarameemaansa ko 'shaareerik meemaansa' aur 'vedaantadarshan' bhi kehte hain. ye naam baadaraayan ke banaae hue brahmasootr naamak granth ke hain.

meemaansa shabd ka arth hai anusandhaan, gambhir, vichaar, khoj. praacheen Bhaarat mein vedon ko param pramaan maana jaata tha. ved vaaङa‌aamaya bahut vistrut hai aur usamein yagya, upaasana aur gyaan sambandhi mantra paae jaate hain. ve mantra (sanhita), brahman aur aaranyak-upanishd naamak bhaagon mein vibhaajit kiye gaye hain. bahut praacheen (bhaarateeya vichaarapaddhati ke anusaar apaurusheya) hone ke kaaran vedavaakyon ke arth, prayog aur paraspar sambandh samanvaya ka gyaan lupt ho jaane se unke sambandh mein anusandhaan karne ki aavashyakta padi. mantra aur braahman bhaagon ke antargat vaakyon ka samanvaya jaimini ne apne granth meemaansaasootr (poorvameemaansaadarshan) mein kiya. mantra aur brahman ved ke poorvabhaag hone ke kaaran unke arth aur upayog ki meemaansa ka naam poorvameemaansa pada. ved ke uttar bhaag aaranyak aur upanishd ke vaakyon ka samanvaya baadaraayan ne brahmasootr naamak granthon mein kiya ataev usaka naam uttarameemaansa pada. uttarameemaansa shaareerik meemaansa bhi is kaaran kahalaata hai ki ismein shareeradhaari aatma ke liye un saadhanon aur upaasanaaon ka sanket hai jinke dvaara vah apne brahmatv ka anubhav kar sakta hai. iska naam vedaant darshan is kaaran pada ki ismein ved ke antim bhaag ke vaakyon ke vishyon ka samanvaya kiya gaya hai. iska naam brahmameemaansa athva brahmasootr is kaaran pada ki ismein vishesh vishay brahm aur uske svaroop ki meemaansa hai, jabki poorvameemaansa ka vishay yagya aur dhaarmik krutya hain.

uttarameemaansa mein keval ved (aaranyakon aur upanishdon ke) vaakyon ke arth ka niroopan aur samanvaya hi naheen hai, usamein jeev, jagat‌ aur brahm sambandhi daarshanik samasyaaon par bhi vichaar kiya gaya hai. ek sarvaangeen darshan ka nirmaan karke usaka yuktiyon dvaara pratipaadan aur usase bhinn matavaale darshanon ka khandan bhi kiya gaya hai. daarshanik drushti se yeh bhaag bahut mahatvooparn samjha jaata hai.

samast brahmasootr mein chaar adhyaaya hain aur pratyek adhyaaya mein chaar paad hain. pratham adhyaaya mein pratham paad ke pratham chaar sootr aur doosare adhyaaya ke pratham aur dviteeya paadon mein vedaant darshan sambandhi praaya: sabhi baatein aa jaati hain. inmein hi vedaantadarshan ke oopar jo aakshep kiye ja sakte hain ve aur vedaant ko doosare darshanon mein-poorvameemaansa, bauddh, jain, vaisheshik, paashupat darshanon mein, jo us samay prachalit the-jo trutiyaaain dikhaai deti hain ve aa jaati hain.

swayam baadaraayan ke vichaar kya hain, yeh nishchit karna aur kis aachaarya ka bhaashya baadaraayan ke vichaaron ka samarthan karta hai aur unke anukool hai, yeh kehna bahut kathin hai kyonki sootr bahut durooh hain. is samasya ke saath yeh samasya bhi sambaddh hai ki jin upanishdvaakyon ka brahmasootr mein samanvaya karne ka prayatn kiya gaya hai unke daarshanik vichaar kya hain. baadaraayan ne unako kya samjha aur bhaashyakaaron ne unako kya samjha hai? vahi bhaashya adhiktar theek samjha jaana chaahiye jo upanishdon aur brahmasootr donon ke anuroop ho. is drushti se shri shankaraachaarya ka mat adhik sameecheen jaan padta hai. kuchh vidvaan‌ raamaanujaachaarya ke mat ko adhik sutraanukool batalaate hain.

uttarameemaansa ka sabse vishesh daarshanik siddhaant yeh hai ki jad jagat. ka upaadaan aur nimitt kaaran chetan brahm hai. jaise makadi apne bheetar se hi jaal taanati hai, vaise hi brahm bhi is jagat‌ ko apni hi shakti dvaara utpann karta hai. yahi naheen, vahi iska paalak hai aur vahi iska sanhaar bhi karta hai. jeev aur brahm ka taadaatmya hai aur anek prakaar ke saadhanon aur upaasanaaon dvaara vah brahm ke saath taadaatmya ka anubhav karke jagat‌ ke karmajanjaal se aur baaranbaar ke jeevan aur maran se mukt ho jaata hai. muktaavastha mein param aanand ka anubhav karta hai.
