urad ya udd ek dalahan hota hai. urad ko sanskrut mein 'maash' ya 'balaadhya'; baingala' mein maash ya kalaai; gujaraati mein add; maraathi mein udeed; punjabi mein maaainh, angreji, Spanish aur itaaliyn mein vigna mungon; jarman mein urdabohane; French mein hareekot urd; polish mein faasola mungon; purtagaali mein fejon-the-indiya tatha laitin mein 'fesiolas rediyetas', kehte hain.

(1) kaali aur badi, jo varsha ke aarambh mein boi jaati hai aur

(2) hari aur chhoti, jiski boaai do maheene pashchaat‌ hoti hai.
