tarkasangrah nyaaya evam vaisheshik dono darshanon ko samaahit karne wala granth hai. iske rachayita annam bhatt hain. iske adhyayan se nyaaya evam vaisheshik ke sabhi mool siddhaanton ka gyaan mil jaata hai. is granth mein 'padaarthon' ke vishay mein jo kuchh hai vah poornat: vaisheshik ke anusaar hai jabki 'pramaan' ke vishay mein jo kuchh hai vah poornat: nyaaya ke anusaar hai. arthaat padaarthon ke liye 'vaisheshik mat' ko sveekaar kiya gaya hai tatha pramaan ke liye 'nyaaya mat' ko. is prakaar is granth ke maadhyam se nyaaya aur vaisheshik mat ko ek mein milaaya gaya hai.

annam bhatt ne baalakon ko sukhapoorvak nyaayapadaarthon ka gyaan karaane ke uddeshya se tarkasangrah naamak anvarth laghugranth ki rachana ki tatha iske atisankshipt arth ko spasht karne ke abhipraaya se swayam deepika naamak vyaakhya granth ki bhi rachana ki. is granth ka aarambh hi isi baat par bal dete hue hua hai ki ismein vishay ko bahut saral tareeke se prastut kiya gaya hai-

nidhaaya hrudi vish‍aaveshan vidhaaya guruvan‍aadanam .
baalaanaan sukhabodhaaya kriyte tarkasangrah: .
( hrudaya mein vishvanaath ko rakhakar guruvandana karke, baalakon ko bhi ke sukhapoorvak bodh ke liye (aasaani se dravyaadi saat padaarthon ka gyaan karaane hetu) tarkasangrah likh raha hooain.)

tarkasangrah ka arth

tarkasangrah nyaaya-vaisheshik parampara ka mahattvapoorn granth hai. yahaaain 'tark' shabd ka arth hai 'dravyaadi sapt padaarth' (tarkyante pratipaadyantt iti tarkaa: dravyaadisptapadaarthaa:.) nyaaya mein tark shabd ke anek arth diye hain. is shabd ka ukt arth jo yahaan diya gaya hai vah asaadhaaran hai. 'sangrah' shabd sankshep ke arth mein prayukt hua hai. vaakya-vivrutti ke anusaar sangrah ke antargat uddesh, lakshan aur pareeksha aate hain. uddesh ka arth hai parignan. kisi padaarth ke asaadhaaran dharm ka kathan usaka lakshan kahalaata hai tatha lakshit padaarth mein lakshan theek theek baithata hai athva naheen is prakaar ka vichaar karna pareeksha kahalaati hai.

is prakaar tark sangrah ka arth hai dravyaadi sapt padaarthon ke parignan ke saath unke lakshan tatha un lakshanon ki pareeksha ka sankshipt roop se pratipaadan karne wala granth.

yeh granth nyaaya vaisheshik ka prakaran granth hai. prakaran ki paribhaasha is prakaar ki gayi hai :-

shaastraukadeshasambaddhan shaastraakaaryaantare sthitm.
aahu: prakaranan naam granthabhedan vipshchit:.

arthaat 'shaastr ke ansh se sambaddh tatha shaastra ke (vishisht) vishay ke andar sthit (granth) ko vidvaan log prakaran naamak granth ka bhed kehte hain.' is paribhaasha ke anusaar 'prakaran' sampoorn shaastra ke vishay se sambaddh na hokar uske kisi vishisht vishay se sambaddh hona chaahiye. 'prakaran' shabd jab granth ke ang ke arth mein aata hai tab to sadaiv aisa hi hota hai kintu jab yeh svatantr granth ke arth mein prayukt hota hai to ham sadaiv usamein shaastr ke ek hi vishay ka vivechan praapt naheen karte. kuchh prakaran to avashya aise paaye jaate hain jahaaain shaastr ke ek hi vishay ka niroopan hai, jaise shankaraachaaryakrut 'pacheekaranaprakriya', kintu adhikaansh prakaran-ganth aise hain jinmein shaastr ke sampoorn vishyon ka sankshep mein vivechan hai. nyaaya-vaisheshik ke saptapadaarthi, tarkabhaasha, tarkasangrah aadi granth aise hi hain.
