Khan, eteees ke pramukh, jinhonne 16 November 1991 ko Lokhandwala kaaaimpaleks par dhaava daala, jinhonne yeh 400 sashastr policekarmiyon ke saath ise anjaam diya. khatarnaak gangster maaya dolaas unheen imaaraton mein chhipa baitha tha. film ke pramukh kirdaar chunki vaastavik logon par keindrit hain so unke naamon mein sukshm badlaav kiye gaye hai aur film ke anusheersh par ise "vaastavik ghatna ke gavaah A bayaanaat par aadhaarit" bataaya gaya. film ka pradarshan 25 May 2007 mein hua.

film ka pardaaparn jhaadu aur ponchha lagaakar Lokhandwala kaaaimpaleks ke svaati bilding ke ird gird sookh chuke khoon aur bikhre kaartooson ki safaai ki drushya se shuroo hote hain.[1] teeveeen reporter meeta mattu (deeya mirja) yeh khabar deti hai ki police apne vishaal skavaad ke saath bina kisi ghoshana ke behad shaant samajhe jaanevaale rihaayashi kshetr mein dakhalaandaji kar 3000 chakr se jyaada ki goliyaaain aur baarood chalaai hain.

film ka doosra rukh bhootapoorv mukhya nyaayaadheesh rahe niji abhiyojak dheengara (Amitabh Bachchan) ke daftar ko mudti hai jahaaain ve maujood Mumbai enakaauntar skavaad ke sheersh sadasyon ka saakshaatkaar lete hai: upper police commissioner shamasher S. Khan (yahaan A.A. film ke kai kirdaaron ke tarah unke niji jeevan ka bhi khulaasa karti hai. Khan ki patni rohini (neha dhupiya) bhi ab apne hi parivaar ke liye mahatva na de paane kaaran uske saath rah na paane ki asamarthata jataati hai. aur talaak ki arji karti hai. Patil unke talaak ke maamale ko sulajhaata hai. vaheen dushmanon ke kheme mein, buva apni baar daansar premika tannu (aarti chhaabariya) ke saath chhipkar samay gujarata hai, yeh kehkar ki ab uske saath pehle ki tarah vakt naheen de paata. vaheen uske aparaadhi saathi fattoo (jise uske hi maata pita ne bedakhal kar diya) aur aar.si. (shabbeer Ahluwalia) (jise aksar hi apne haathon hue katl ke baad ek begunaah parivaar ke saayon ke bhram se hota hai) bhi apni mushkilon se jujhate rahate hain.

fir November 1991 ka vah nirnaayak din aa hi jaata hai. paanch aparaadhiyon mein se maaya aur buva khud ko sabse bachaane ke liye, apahrut vaadhavaani ke bachche ke saath, Lokhandwala ke svaati bilding ke flat mein chhupe rahate hain. Khan ko mili gupt jaankaari se us ilaake ki jaankaari maaloom ho jaati hai. (dheengara ispar savaal uthaate hai, kyonki kathit taur par us roj Khan ko dubai mein big baaais ki kaaail ki khabar milti hai. Khan purajor tareeke se is masale se inkaar kar deta hai.)
