elora gufaaon mein Shiv moorti.
elora mein teen manjila akhand jain gufa mandir.
maanyakhet ke raashtrakoot saamraajya ka vistrut kshetr.

inka shaasanakaal lagbhag chhathi se terahaveen shataabdi ke madhya tha. is kaal mein unhonne paraspar ghanishth parantu svatantr jaatiyon ke roop mein raajya kiya, unke gyaat praacheenatam shilaalekhon mein saataveen shataabdi ka 'raashtrakoot' taamrapatr mukya hai, jisme ullikhit hai ki, 'maalava praant' ke maanapur mein unka saamraajya tha (joki aaj madhya pradesh raajar mein sthit hai), isi kaal ki anya 'raashtrakoot' jaatiyon mein 'achalapur'(jo aadhunik samay mein mahaaraastr mein sthit elichpur hai), ke shaasak tatha 'kannauj' ke shaasak bhi shaamil the. inke moolasthaan tatha mool ke baare mein kai bhraantiyaan prachalit hai. elichpur mein shaasan karne vaale 'raashtrakoot' 'baadaami chaalukyon' ke upanivesh ke roop mein sthaapit hue the lekin 'daantidurg' ke netrutv mein unhonne chaalukya shaasak 'keertivrman dviteeya' ko vahaaain se ukhaad feinka tatha aadhunik 'karnaatak' praant ke 'gulabarg' ko apna mukhya sthaan banaaya. yeh jaati baad mein 'maanyakhet ke raashtrakooton ' ke naam se vikhyaat ho gayi, jo 'dakshin Bhaarat' mein 753 isavi mein satta mein I, isi samay par Bengal ka 'paal saamraajya' evam 'Gujarat ke pratihaar saamraajya' 'bhaarateeya upamahaadveep' ke poorv aur uttarapashchim bhoobhaag par teji se satta mein aa rahe the.[1][2][3]

aathaveen se dasveen shataabdi ke madhya ke kaal mein ganga ke upajaaoo maidaani bhaag par sthit 'kannauj raajya' par niyantran hetu ek tridleeya sangharsh chal raha tha, us vakt 'kannauj' 'uttar Bhaarat' ki mukhya satta ke roop mein sthaapit tha. pratyek saamraajya us par niyantran karna chaah raha tha. 'maanyakhet ke raashtrakooton' ki satta ke uchchatam shikhar par unka saamraajya uttaradisha mein 'ganga' aur 'yamuna nadi' par sthit doaab se lekar dakshin mein kanyaakumaari tak tha. yeh unke raajaneetik vistaar, vaastukala upalabdhiyon aur saahityik yogadaan ka kaal tha. is raajavansh ke praarambhik shaasak hindu dharm ke anuyaayi the, parantu baad mein yeh raajavansh jain dharm ke prabhaav mein aa gaya tha.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]

prashaasan

ye sambhavat: mool roop se Dravid kisaan the, jo laatataapur (laatoor, usamaanavaad ke nikat) ke shaahi parivaar ke the. ye kannad bhaasha bolte the, lekin unhein uttar-daakakani bhaasha ki jaankaari bhi thi. apne shatru chaalukya vansh ko paraajit karne vaale raashtrakoot vansh ke shaasan kaal mein hi dakkan saamraajya Bhaarat ki doosari badi raajaneetik ikaai ban gaya, jo maalava se kaanchi tak faila hua tha. is kaal mein raashtrakooton ke mahatva ka is tathya se pata chalta hai ki ek muslim yaatri ne yahaaain ke raaja ko duniya ke chaar mahaan shaasakon mein se ek bataaya (anya shaasak khaleefa tatha baaijanteeya aur cheen ke samraat the).[13][14]

kala aur sanskruti

kai raashtrakoot raaja adhyayan aur kala ke prati samarpit the. doosare raaja, Krishna pratham (lagbhag 756 se 773) ne elora me chattaan ko kaatkar Kailash mandir banavaaya. is raajavansh ka prasiddh shaasak amoghavarsh pratham ne, jinhone lagbhag 814 se 878 tak shaasan kiya, sabse puraani gyaat kannad kavita kaviraajamaarg ke kuchh khandon ki rachana ki thi. unke shaasan kaal mein jain ganitjnyaon aur vidvaanon ne 'kannad' va 'sanskrut' bhaashaaon ke saahitya mein mahatvapoorn yogadaan diya. uni vaastukala 'dravinn shaili' mein aaj bhi meal ka patthar maani jaati hai, jiska ek prasiddh udaaharan 'ellora' ka 'kailaashanaath mandir' hai. anya mahatvapoorn yogadaanon mein 'Maharashtra' mein sthit 'eleefeinta gufaaon' ki moortikla tatha 'karnaatak' ke 'pataadkkal' mein sthit 'kaashi vishvanaath' aur 'jain mandir' aadi aate hain, yahi nahi yeh sabhi 'yoonesko' ki world heritej saait mein bhi shaamil hain.[15]

aarthik paridrushya

is vansh ke kai raaja yuddh kala mein paarangat the. dhruv pratham ne gangavaadi (Mysore) ke gangavansh ke raajaaon ko paraajit kiya, kaanchi (kaancheepuram) ke pallavon se loha liya aur Bengal ke raaja tatha kaananoj par daava karne vaale pratihaar shaasak ko paraajit kiya. Krishna dviteeya ne, jo 878 mein sinhaasan par baithe, fir se Gujarat par kabja kar liya, jo amoghavarsh pratham ke haathon se chhin gaya tha. lekin ve veingi par fir se adhikaar karne mein asafal rahe. unke pautr Indra truteeya ne, jo 1914 mein sattaaroodh huye. kannauj par kabja karke raashtrakoot shakti ko apne charam par pahuncha diya. Krishna truteeya ne uttar ke apne abhiyaanon (lagbhag 940) se iska aur vistaar kiya tatha kaanchi aur tamil adhikaar vaale maidaani kshetr (948-966/967) par kabja kar liya.[16][17]
