punarjanm yeh dhaarana hai ki vyakti mrutyu ke pashchaat pun: janm leta hai. ham ye kahein ki karm aadi ke anusaar koi manushya marne ke baad kaheen anyatr janm leta hai.
paashchaatya mat mein saamaanyat: punarjanm sveekrut naheen hai kyonki vahaaain ishvarechha aur yadruchha ko hi sab kuchh maanate hain. kaha jaata hai, yadi vyakti ka punarjanm hota hai to use apne pehle janm ki yaad kyon naheen hoti? bhaarateeya mat iska uttar deta hai ki ajnyaaan se aavrutt hone ke kaaran aatma apna vartamaan dekhti hai aur bhavishya banaane ka prayatn karti hai, par bhoot ko ekdam bhool jaati hai. yadi ajnyaaan ka naash ho jaae to poorvajanm ka gyaan asambhav naheen hai. Bhaarat ki pauraanik kathaaon mein is tarah ke anek udaaharan hain aur yogashaastr mein poorvajanm ka gyaan praapt karne ke upaaya varnit hain.
itihaas evam vikaas
aatma ke amaratv tatha shareer aur aatma ke dvait ki sthaapana se yeh shanka hoti hai ki maran ke baad aatma ki gati kya hai. amar hone se vah shareer ke saath hi nasht ho to naheen sakti. tab nishchaya hi ashareer hokar vah kaheen rahati hogi. par aatmaaeain ek hi avastha mein rahati hongi, yeh naheen sthaapit kiya ja sakta, kyonki sabke karm ek se naheen hote. ataev rigvedakaaleen bhaarateeya chintan mein aatma ke amaratv, shareeraatmak dvait taya karmasiddhaant ki uparyukt prerana se yeh nirnaya hua ki manushya ke maran ke baad, karmon ke shubhaashubh ke anusaar, svarg ya narak praapt hota hai.
