o3m (Om) ya omkaar ka naamaantar pranav hai. yeh ishvar ka vaachak hai. ishvar ke saath omkaar ka vaachya-vaachak-bhaav sambandh nitya hai, saanketik naheen. sanket nitya ya svaabhaavik sambandh ko prakat karta hai. srushti ke aadi mein sarvapratham onkaararoopi pranav ka hi sfuran hota hai. tadanantar saat karod mantron ka aavirbhaav hota hai. in mantron ke vaachya aatma ke devata roop mein prasiddh hain. ye devata maaya ke oopar vidyamaan rah kar maayik srushti ka niyantran karte hain. in mein se aadhe shuddh maayaajagat mein kaarya karte hain aur shesh aadhe ashuddh ya malin maayik jagat mein. is ek shabd ko brahmaand ka saar maana jaata hai, 16 shlokon mein iski mahima varnit hai.[1]

brahmapraapti ke liye nirdisht vibhinn saadhanon mein pranavopaasana mukhya hai. mundakopanishd mein likha hai:

"pranavo dhanu:sharohyaatma brahmatallakshyamuchyate.

apramatten veddhavyan sharavattanmayo bhavet.."

kathopanishd mein yeh bhi likha hai ki aatma ko adhar arani aur omkaar ko uttar arani banaakar manthan roop abhyaas karne se divya jnyaaanaroop jyoti ka aavirbhaav hota hai. uske aalok se nigoodh aatmatatv ka saakshaatkaar hota hai. shreemadbhagavadgeeta mein bhi omkaar ko ekaakshar brahm kaha hai. maandookyopanisht mein bhoot, bhavat ya vartamaan aur bhavishya–trikaal–onkaaraatmak hi kaha gaya hai. yahaaain trikaal se ateet tatv bhi omkaar hi kaha gaya hai. aatma akshar ki drushti se omkaar hai aur maatra ki drushti se a, u aur m roop hai. chaturth paad mein maatra naheen hai evam vah vyavahaar se ateet tatha prapanchashoonya advait hai. iska abhipraaya yeh hai ki onkaaraatmak shabd brahm aur usase ateet parabrahm donon hi abhinn tatv hain.

vaidik vaaङaamaya ke sadrush dharmashaastr, puraan tatha aagam saahitya mein bhi omkaar ki mahima sarvatr pai jaati hai. isi prakaar bauddh tatha jain sanpradaaya mein bhi sarvatr omkaar ke prati shraddha ki abhivyakti dekhi jaati hai. pranav shabd ka arth hai–prakarshenanooyate stooyate anen iti, nauti stauti iti va pranav:.

pranav ka bodh karaane ke liye usaka vishleshan aavashyak hai. yahaaain prasiddh aagamon ki prakriya ke anusaar vishleshan kriya ka kuchh digdarshan karaaya jaata hai. omkaar ke avayavon ka naam hai–a, u, m, bindu, ardhachandr rodhini, naad, naadaant, shakti, vyaapini ya mahaashoonya, samana tatha unmana. inmein se akaar, ukaar aur makaar ye teen srushti, sthiti aur sanhaar ke sapaadak brahma, vishnu tatha rudr ke vaachak hain. prakaaraantar se ye jaagrat, svapn aur sushupti tatha sthool, sookshm aur kaaran avasthaaon ke bhi vaachak hain. bindu tureeya dasha ka dyotak hai. plut tatha deergh maatraaon ka sthitikaal kramash: sankshipt hokar ant mein ek maatra mein paryavasit ho jaata hai. yeh hrasv svar ka uchchaaran kaal maana jaata hai. isi ek maatra par samagr vishv pratishthit hai. vikshipt bhoomi se ekaagr bhoomi mein pahuainchane par pranav ki isi ek maatra mein sthiti hoti hai. ekaagr se nirodh avastha mein jaane ke liye is M maatra ka bhi bhed kar ardhamaatra mein pravisht hua jaata hai. taduparaant kramash: sookshm aur sookshmatar maatraaon ka bhed karna padta hai. bindu ardhamaatra hai. uske anantar pratyek star mein maatraaon ka vibhaag hai. samana bhoomi mein jaane ke baad maatraaeain itni sookshm ho jaati hain ki kisi yogi athva yogeeshvaron ke liye uske aage badhva sambhav naheen hota, arthaat vahaaain ki maatra vaastav mein avibhaajya ho jaati hai. aachaaryo ka upadesh hai ki isi sthaan mein maatraaon ko samarpit kar amaatr bhoomi mein pravesh karna chaahiye. iska thoda sa aabhaas maandookya upanishd mein milta hai.

bindu man ka hi roop hai. maatraavibhaag ke saath-saath man adhikaadhik sookshm hota jaata hai. amaatr bhoomi mein man, kaal, kalana, devata aur prapanch, ye kuchh bhi naheen rahate. isi ko unmani sthiti kehte hain. vahaaain svayanprakaash brahm nirantar prakaashamaan rahata hai.

yogi sanpradaaya mein svachhand tantr ke anusaar onkaarasaadhana ka ek kram prachalit hai. uske anusaar "a" samagr sthool jagat ka dyotak hai aur uske oopar sthit kaaranajagat ka vaachak hai makaar. kaaran salil mein vidhrut, sthool aadi teen jagaton ke prateek a, u aur m hain. oordhv gati ke prabhaav se shabdamaatraaon ka makaar mein laya ho jaata hai. tadanantar maatraateet ki or gati hoti hai. m paryat gati ko anusvaar gati kehte hain. anusvaar ki pratishtha ardhamaatra mein visrgaroop mein hoti hai. itna hone par maatraateet mein jaane ke liye dwaar khul jaata hai. vastut: amaatr ki gati bindu se hi praarambh ho jaati hai.

tantr shaastr mein is prakaar ka maatraavibhaag nau naadon ki sookshm yogabhoomiyaan ke naam se prasiddh hai. is prasang mein yeh smaraneeya hai ki bindu ashesh vedyon ke abhed gyaan ka hi naam hai aur naad ashesh vaachakon ke vimrshan ka naam hai. iska taatparya yeh hai ki a, u aur m pranav ke in teen avayavon ka atikraman karne par arthatatv ka avashya hi bhed ho jaata hai. usaka kaaran yeh hai ki yahaaain yogi ko sab padaartho ke gyaan ke liye sarvajnyaatv praapt ho jaata hai evam uske baad bindubhed karne par vah us gyaan ka bhi atikraman kar leta hai. arth aur gyaan in donon ke oopar keval naad hi avashisht rahata hai evam naad ki naadaant tak ki gati mein naad ka bhi bhed ho jaata hai. us samay keval kala ya shakti hi vidyamaan rahati hai. jahaaain shakti ya chit shakti praapt ho gayi vahaaain brahm ka prakaashamaan hona svat: hi siddh hai.

is prakaar pranav ke sookshm uchchaaran dvaara vishv ka bhed hone par vishvaateet tak satta ki praapti ho jaati hai. svachhand tantr mein yeh dikhaaya gaya hai ki oordhv gati mein kis prakaar kaaranon ka parityaag hote hote akhand poornatatv mein sthiti ho jaati hai. "a" brahma ka vaachak hai; uchchaaran dvaara hrudaya mein usaka tyaag hota hai. "u" vishnu ka vaachak hain; usaka tyaag kanth mein hota hai tatha "m" rudr ka vaachak hai or usaka tyaag taalumadhya mein hota hai. isi pranaali se brahmagranthi, vishnugranthi tatha rudragranthi ka chhedan ho jaata hai. tadanantar bindu hai, jo swayam ishvar roop hai arthaat bindu se kramash: oopar ki or vaachyavaachak ka bhed naheen rahata. bhroomadhya mein bindu ka tyaag hota hai. naad sadaashivroopi hai. lalaat se moordha tak ke sthaan mein usaka tyaag karna padta hai. yahaaain tak ka anubhav sthool hai. iske aage shakti ka vyaapini tatha samana bhoomiyon mein sookshm anubhav hone lagta hai. is bhoomi ke vaachya Shiv hain, jo sadaashiv se oopar tatha paramashiv se neeche rahate hain. moordha ke oopar sparshanubhooti ke anantar shakti ka bhi tyaag ho jaata hai evam uske oopar vyaapini ka bhi tyaag ho jaata hai. us samay keval manan maatr roop ka anubhav hota hai. yeh samana bhoomi ka parichay hai. iske baad hi manan ka tyaag ho jaata hai. iske uparaant kuchh samay tak man ke ateet vishuddh aatmasvaroop ki jhalak deekh padti hai. iske anantar hi paramaanugrahapraapt yogi ka unmana shakti mein pravesh hota hai.

isi ko paramapad ya paramashiv ki praapti samajhna chaahiye aur isi ko ek prakaar se unmana ka tyaag bhi maana ja sakta hai. is prakaar brahma se shivparyant chhah kaaranon ka ullanghan ho jaane par akhand paripoorn satta mein sthiti ho jaati hai.

naanak kyon kehte hain

guru naanak ji ka shabd ek omkaar Satnam bahut prachalit tatha shatpratisht satya hai. ek omkaar hi satya naam hai. Ram, Krishna sab faladaayi naam omkaar par nihit hain tatha omkaar ke kaaran hi inka mahatva hai. baaainki naamon ko to humne banaaya hai parantu omkaar hi hai jo svayanbhoo hai tatha har shabd isse hi bana hai. har dhvani mein oum shabd hota hai.[2]

mahatva tatha laabh

oum teen shabd 'a' 'u' 'm' se milkar bana hai jo tridev brahma, vishnu aur mahesh tatha trilok bhoorbhuv: sv: bhoolok bhuv: lok tatha svarg lok ka prateek hai.[3]

padmaashan mein baith kar iska jap karne se man ko shaanti tatha ekaagrata ki praapti hoti hai, vaigyaaniko tatha jyotishiyon ko kehna hai ki oum tatha ekaakshari mantra[4] ka paath karne mein daaaint, naak, jeebh sab ka upayog hota hai jisse haarmonal sraav kam hota hai tatha granthi sraav ko kam karke yeh shabd kai beemaariyon se raksha tatha shareer ke saat chakr (kundalini) ko jaagrut karta hai.[5]

Om sampoorn brahmaand ki utpatti aur poori srushti ka dyotak hai.
