navagrah
grah (sanskrut ke grah se - pakadna, kabje mein karna[1]) maata bhoomidevi (pruthvi) ke praaniyon par ek 'brahmaandeeya prabhaavakaari' hai. hindu jyotish mein navagrah (sanskrut: navagrah, nau grah ya nau prabhaavakaari) in pramukh prabhaavakaariyon mein se hain.
raashi chakr mein sthir sitaaron ki prushthabhoomi ke sambandh mein sabhi navagrah ki saapeksh gatividhi hoti hai. ismein grah bhi shaamil hain: mangal, budh, bruhaspati, shukr, aur shani, soorya, chandrama, aur saath hi saath aakaash mein avasthitiyaan, raahoo (uttar ya aarohi chandra aasandhi) aur ketu (dakshin ya avarohi chandra aasandhi).
kuchh logon ke anusaar, grah "prabhaavon ke chihnak hain" jo praaniyon ke vyavahaar par laukik prabhaav ko ingit karte hain. ve khud prerana tatv naheen hain[2] lekin unki tulana yaataayaat signal se ki ja sakti hai.
jyotish granth prashn maarg ke anusaar, kai anya aadhyaatmik satta hain jinhein grah ya aatma kaha jaata hai. kaha jaata hai ki sabhi (navagrah ko chhodkar) Bhagwan Shiv ya rudr ke krodh se utpann hue hain. adhikaansh grah ki prakruti aam taur par haanikr hai, lekin kuchh aise bhi hain jo shubh hain.[3] 'grah pind' sheershak ke tahat, pustak the puraanik inasaaiklopeediya, aise grahon ki (aadhyaatmik satta ki aatmaaen) ek soochi pradaan karti hai, jo maana jaata hai ki bachchon ko sataate hain, aadi. isi kitaab mein vibhinn jagahon par grahon ka naam diya gaya hai, jaise 'skhand grah' jo maana jaata hai ki garbhapaat ka kaaran hota hai.[4]

jyotishiyon ka daava hai ki pruthvi se jude praaniyon ki prabha (oorja pindon) aur man ko grah prabhaavit karte hain. pratyek grah mein ek vishisht oorja gunavatta hoti hai, jise uske likhit aur jyotisheeya sandarbhon ke maadhyam se ek roopak shaili mein varnit kiya jaata hai. grahon ki oorja kisi vyakti ke bhaagya ke saath ek vishisht tareeke se us vakt jud jaati hai jab ve apne janmasthaan par apni pehli saans lete hain. yeh oorja judaav dharati ke nivaasiyon ke saath tab tak rahata hai jab tak unka vartamaan shareer jeevit rahata hai.[5] "nau grah, saarvabhaumik, aadyaprarupeeya oorja ke sanchaarak hain. pratyek grah ke gun sthool jagat aur sookshm jagat vaale brahmaand ki dhruvaabhisaarita ke samagr santulan ko banaae rakhane mein madad karte hain, jaise neeche vaise hi oopar.[6]
manushya bhi, grah ya uske svaami devata ke saath sanyam ke maadhyam se kisi vishisht grah ki chuninda oorja ke saath khud ki anukoolata bithaane mein saksham hain. vishisht devataaon ki pooja ka prabhaav unki sambandhit oorja ke maadhyam se pooja karne vaale vyakti ke liye tadanusaar falata hai, vishesh roop se sambandhit grah dvaara dhaaran kiye gaye bhaav ke anusaar. "brahmaandeeya oorja jo ham hamesha praapt karte hain usamein alag-alag khagoleeya pindon se aa rahi oorja shaamil hoti hain." "jab ham baar-baar kisi mantra ka uchchaaran karte hain to ham kisi khaas freekveinsi ke saath taalamel baithaate hain aur yeh freekveinsi brahmaandeeya oorja ke saath sampark sthaapit karti hai aur use hamaare shareer ke bheetar aur aaspaas kheenchati hai."[7]
is dhaarana ki charcha ki grah, taare aur anya khagoleeya pind, oorja ki aisi sajeev satta hain jo brahmaand ke anya praaniyon ko prabhaavit karte hain kai anya praacheen sanskrutiyon mein bhi milti hai aur is maanyata ka upayog kai aadhunik katha saahitya ki prushthabhoomi mein kiya gaya hai (jaise stainisla larn dvaara solaaris, isi sheershak ki film bhi dekhein).

soorya
soorya (devanaagari: soorya, sūarya) mukhiya hai, saur devata, aadityon mein se ek, kashyap aur unki patniyon mein se ek aditi ke putr[8], Indra ka, ya dyaus pitr ka (sanskaran par nirbhar karte hue). unke baal aur haath svarn ke hain. unke rath ko saat ghode kheenchate hain, jo saat chakron ka pratinidhitv karte hain. ve "ravi" ke roop mein "ravi-vaar" ya itavaar ke svaami hain.
hindu dhaarmik saahitya mein, soorya ko vishesh roop se Bhagwan ka drushya roop kaha gaya hai jise koi praani har din dekh sakta hai. iske alaava, shaiv aur vaishnav soorya ko aksar kramash:, Shiv aur vishnu ke ek pahaloo ke roop mein maanate hain. udaaharan ke liye, soorya ko vaishnav dvaara soorya Narayan kaha jaata hai. shaiv dharmashaastr mein, soorya ko Shiv ke aath roopon mein se ek kaha jaata hai, jiska naam ashtamoorti hai.
unhein satv gun ka maana jaata hai aur ve aatma, raaja, oonche vyaktiyon ya pita ka pratinidhitv karte hain.
hindu pauraanik kathaaon ke anusaar, soorya ki adhik prasiddh santatiyon mein hain shani (saitarn), yam (mrutyu ke devata) aur karn (mahaabhaarat vaale).

chandra
chandr ek chandr devata hain. chandra (chaand) ko som ke roop mein bhi jaana jaata hai aur unhein vaidik chandra devata som ke saath pahachaana jaata hai. unhein javaan, sundar, gaur, dvibaahu ke roop mein varnit kiya gaya hai aur unke haathon mein ek mugadar aur ek kamal rahata hai.[9] ve har raat poore aakaash mein apna rath (chaand) chalaate hain, jise das safed ghode ya mrug dvaara kheencha jaata hai. vah os se jude hue hain aur janan kshamata ke devataaon mein se ek hain. unhein nishaadipti bhi kaha jaata hai (nisha=raat; aadipti=devata) shupaarak (jo raatri ko aalokit kare)[10] som ke roop mein ve, somavaaram ya somvaar ke svaami hain. ve satv gun vaale hain aur man, maata ki raani ka pratinidhitv karte hain.
mangal
mangal, laal grah mangal ke devata hain. mangal grah ko sanskrut mein angaarak bhi kaha jaata hai ('jo laal rang ka hai') ya bhaum ('bhoomi ka putr'). vah yuddh ke devata hain aur brahmachaari hain. unhein pruthvi, ya bhoomi arthaat pruthvi devi ki santaan maana jaata hai. vah vrushchik aur mesh raashi ke svaami hain aur manogat vigyaan (ruchaka mahaapurush yog) ke ek shikshak hain. unki prakruti tamas gun waali hai aur ve oorjaavaan kaarravaai, aatmavishvaas aur ahankaar ka pratinidhitv karte hain.
unhein laal rang ya lau ke rang mein ranga jaata hai, chaturbhuj, ek trishool, mugadar, kamal aur ek bhaala liye hue chitrit kiya jaata hai. unka vaahan ek bheda hai. ve 'mangal-vaar' ke svaami hain.[10]
budh
budh, budh grah ka devata hai aur chandr (chaand) aur taara (taarak) ka putr hai. ve vyaapaar ke devata bhi hain aur vyaapaariyon ke rakshak bhi. ve rajo gun vaale hain aur samvaad ka pratinidhitv karte hain.
unhein shaant, suvakta aur hare rang mein prastut kiya jaata hai. unke haathon mein ek krupaan, ek mugadar aur ek dhaal hoti hai aur ve raamagar mandir mein ek pankh vaale sher ki savaari karte hain. anya chitron mein, unke haathon mein ek raajadand aur kamal hota hai aur ve ek kaaleen ya ek garud athva sheron vaale rath ki savaari karte hain.[11]
budh Budhvaar ke maalik hain. aadhunik hindi, telugu, bangaali, maraathi, kannad aur gujaraati mein ise Budhvaar kaha jaata hai; malayalam aur tamil mein ise budhan kehte hain.
bruhaspati
bruhaspati, devataaon ke guru hain, sheel aur dharm ke avataar hain, praarthanaaon aur balidaanon ke mukhya prastaavak hain, jinhein devataaon ke purohit ke roop mein pradarshit kiya jaata hai aur ve manushyon ke liye madhyast hain. ve bruhaspati grah ke svaami hain. ve satv guni hain aur gyaan aur shikshan ka pratinidhitv karte hain. adhikaansh log bruhaspati ko "guru" bulaate hain.
hindu shaastron ke anusaar, ve devataaon ke guru hain aur daanavon ke guru shukraachaarya ke kattar virodhi hain. unhein guru ke roop mein bhi jaana jaata hai, gyaan aur vaagmita ke devata, jinke naam kai krutiyaan hain, jaise ki "naastik" baarhaspatya sootr.
ve peele ya sunahare rang ke hain aur ek chhadi, ek kamal aur apni maala dhaaran karte hain. ve guruvaar, bruhaspativaar ya tharsade ke svaami hain.[11]
shukr
shukr grah ka pratinidhitv karta hai.
shukr, jo "saaf, shuddh" ya "chamak, spashtata" ke liye sanskrut roop hai, bhrugu aur ushaan ke bete ka naam hai aur ve daityon ke shikshak aur asuron ke guru hain jinhein shukr grah ke saath pahachaana jaata hai, (sammaananeeya shukraachaarya ke saath). ve 'shukr-vaar' ke svaami hain. prakruti se ve raajasi hain aur dhan, khushi aur prajanan ka pratinidhitv karte hain.
ve safed rang, madhyam aayu varg aur bhale chehare ke hain. unki vibhinn savaariyon ka varnan milta hai, oont par ya ek ghode par ya ek magaramachh par. ve ek chhadi, maala aur ek kamal dhaaran karte hain aur kabhi-kabhi ek dhanush aur teer.[12]

shani
shani (devanaagari: shani, Śaani) hindu jyotish (arthaat, vaidik jyotish) mein nau mukhya khagoleeya grahon mein se ek hai. shani, shani grah hai sannihit hai. shani, shanivaar ka svaami hai. iski prakruti tamas hai aur kathin maargeeya shikshan, kairiar aur deerghaayu ko darshaata hai.
shani shabd ki vyutpatti nimnalikhit se hui hai: shanaye kramati s: arthaat, vah jo dheere-dheere chalta hai. shani ko soorya ki parikrama mein 30 varsh lagte hain, is prakaar yeh anya grahon ki tulana mein dheeme chalta hai, at: sanskrut ka naam shani. shani vaastav mein ek ardh-devata hain aur soorya (hindu soorya devata) aur unki patni chhaaya ke ek putr hain. kaha jaata hai ki jab unhonne ek shishu ke roop mein pehli baar apni aankhein kholi, to sooraj grahan mein chala gaya, jisse jyotish chart (kundali) par shani ke prabhaav ka saaf sanket milta hai.
unka chitran kaale rang mein, kaale libaas mein, ek talavaar, teer aur do khanjar liye hue hota hai aur ve aksar ek kaale kaue par savaar hote hain. unhein kuchh alag avsaron par badasoorat, boodhe, langade aur lambe baal, daant aur naakhoon ke saath dikhaaya jaata hai. ye 'shani-vaar' ke svaami hain.[12]
raahoo
raahoo, aarohi / uttar chandra aasandhi ke devata hain. raahu, raakshasi saanp ka mukhiya hai jo hindu shaastron ke anusaar soorya ya chandrama ko niglate hue grahan ko utpann karta hai. chitrakala mein unhein ek draigan ke roop mein darshaaya gaya hai jiska koi sar naheen hai aur jo aath kaale ghodon dvaara kheenche jaane vaale rath par savaar hain. vah tamas asur hai jo araajakata mein kisi vyakti ke jeevan ke us hisse ka poora niyantran haasil karta hai. raahoo kaal ko ashubh maana jaata hai.
pauraanik katha ke anusaar, samudra manthan ke dauraan asur raahoo ne thoda divya amrut pi liya tha. lekin isse pehle ki amrut uske gale se neeche utarata, mohini (vishnu ka stri avataar) ne usaka gala kaat diya. vah sir, tathaapi, amar bana raha aur use raahu kaha jaata hai, jabki baaki shareer ketu ban gaya. aisa maana jaata hai ki yeh amar sir kabhi-kabhi sooraj ya chaand ko nigl jaata hai jisse grahan falit hota hai. fir, soorya ya chandrama gale se hote hue nikal jaata hai aur grahan samaapt ho jaata hai.
ketu
ketu avarohi/dakshin chandra aasandhi ka devata hai. ketu ko aam taur par ek "chhaaya" grah ke roop mein jaana jaata hai. use raakshas saanp ki poonchh ke roop mein maana jaata hai. maana jaata hai ki maanav jeevan par iska ek jabaradast prabhaav padta hai aur poori srushti par bhi. kuchh vishesh paristhitiyon mein yeh kisi ko prasiddhi ke shikhar par pahunchane mein madad karta hai. vah prakruti mein tamas hai aur paaralaukik prabhaavon ka pratinidhitv karta hai.
jyotish ke anusaar, ketu aur raahu, aakaasheeya paridhi mein chalne vaale chandrama aur soorya ke maarg ke pratichhedan bindu ko niroopit karte hain. isliye, raahu aur ketu ko kramash: uttar aur dakshin chandra aasandhi kaha jaata hai. yeh tathya ki grahan tab hota hai jab soorya aur chandrama inmein se ek bindu par hote hain, chandrama aur soorya ko niglane waali kahaani ko utpann karta hai.

Ramnathpuram jile mein, navapaashan naamak jagah mein, patthar ki nau paatiya ko navagrah ke roop mein pooja jaata hai. tirukuvalaai aur tiruvarur jaise mandiron mein nau grah ek seedhi rekha mein khade hote hain. tiruppaayaneeli mandir mein, ve ek patthar mein nau chhed dvaara pradarshit kiye jaate hain.
gangaikond cholapuram mandir mein ek anoothi sanrachana hai jismein nau grahon ko ek ekal patthar par sthaapit kiya jaata hai. soorya ko is sanrachana mein pramukhata se pradarshit kiya gaya hai jahaan do pahiye aur ek saarathi vaale ek rath mein saat ghode lage hote hain. anya aath grahon ko kendra mein soorya ke saath aath dishaaon mein rakha jaata hai.
agastiyaar mandir chennai pondi baajaar mein grahon ki sthiti bilkul bhinn hoti hai jahaan soorya beech ke ek oonche sthaan par sthit hote hain aur shesh grah ek ashtakon sanrachana par hote hain. ise agastiyaar kattu kaha jaata hai (rishi agastya dvaara shuroo ki gayi vyavastha).
