naagaarjun (30 June 1911-5 November 1998) hindi aur maithili ke apratim lekhak aur kavi the. unka asli naam vaidyanaath mishr tha parantu hindi saahitya mein unhonne naagaarjun tatha maithili mein yaatri upanaam se rachanaaeain keen. inke pita shri gokul mishr tarauni gaanv ke ek kisaan the aur kheti ke alaava purohiti aadi ke silsile mein aas-paas ke ilaakon mein aaya-jaaya karte the. unke saath-saath naagaarjun bhi bachapan se hi “ayaatri” ho gaye. aaranbhik shiksha praacheen paddhati se sanskrut mein hui kintu aage svaadhyaaya paddhati se hi shiksha badhi. Rahul saankrutyaayan ke “asanyukt nikaaya” ka anuvaad padhkar vaidyanaath ki ichha hui ki yeh granth mool paali mein padha jaae. iske liye ve lanka chale gaye jahaaain ve swayam paali padhte the aur math ke “abhikkhuon” ko sanskrut padhaate the. yahaaain unhonne bauddh dharm ki deeksha le li.

naagaarjun ko 1965 mein saahitya academy puraskaar se unke aitihaasik maithili rachana patraheen nagn gaachh ke liye 1969 mein navaaja gaya tha. unhein saahitya academy ne 1994 mein saahitya academy felo ke roop mein naamaankit kar sammaanit bhi kiya tha.

samaalochana

naagaarjun ke kaavya mein ab tak ki poori bhaarateeya kaavya-parampara hi jeevant roop mein upasthit dekhi ja sakti hai. unka kavi-vyaktitv kaalidaas aur vidyaapati jaise kai kaalajayi kaviyon ke rachana-sansaar ke gahan avagaahan, bauddh evam maarksavaad jaise bahujanonmukh darshan ke vyaavahaarik anugaman tatha sabse badhkar apne samay aur parivesh ki samasyaaon, chintaaon evam sangharshon se pratyaksh judaav tatha lokasanskruti evam lokahrudaya ki gahari pehchaan se nirmit hai. unka 'yaatreepan' bhaarateeya maanas evam vishay-vastu ko samagr aur sachche roop mein samajhne ka saadhan raha hai. maithili, hindi aur sanskrut ke alaava paali, praakrut, baangla, sinhali, tibbati aadi anekaanek bhaashaaon ka gyaan bhi unke liye isi uddeshya mein sahaayak raha hai. unka gatisheel, sakriya aur pratibaddh sudeergh jeevan unke kaavya mein jeevant roop se pratidhvanit-pratibinbit hai. naagaarjun sahi arthon mein bhaarateeya mitti se bane aadhuniktam kavi hain.[4] jan sangharsh mein adig aastha, janta se gahra lagaav aur ek nyaayapoorn samaaj ka sapana, ye teen gun naagaarjun ke vyaktitv mein hi naheen, unke saahitya mein bhi ghule-mile hain. niraala ke baad naagaarjun akele aise kavi hain, jinhonne itne chhand, itne dhang, itni shailiyaaain aur itne kaavya roopon ka istemaal kiya hai. paaramparik kaavya roopon ko nae kathya ke saath istemaal karne aur nae kaavya kaushalon ko sambhav karanevaale ve adviteeya kavi hain. unke kuchh kaavya shilpon mein taak-jhaaaink karna hamaare liye moolyavaan ho sakta hai. unki abhivyakti ka dhang tiryak bhi hai, behad theth aur seedha bhi. apni tiryakata mein ve jitne bejod hain, apni vaagmita mein ve utane hi vilkshan hain. kaavya roopon ko istemaal karne mein unamein kisi prakaar ki koi antarbaadha naheen hai. unki kavita mein ek pramukh shaili svagat mein mukt baatcheet ki shaili hai. naagaarjun ki hi kavita se pad udhaar lein to kah sakte hain-svaagat shok mein beej nihit hain vishv vyatha ke.[5] bhaasha par Baba ka gajb adhikaar hai. desi boli ke theth shabdon se lekar sanskrutanishth shaastreeya padaavali tak unki bhaasha ke anekon star hain. unhonne to hindi ke alaava maithili, baangla aur sanskrut mein alag se bahut likha hai. jaisa pehle bhaav-bodh ke sandarbh mein kaha gaya, vaise hi bhaasha ki drushti se bhi yeh kaha ja sakta hai ki Baba ki kavitaaon mein kabeer se lekar dhoomil tak ki poori hindi kaavya-parampara ek saath jeevant hai. Baba ne chhand se bhi parahej naheen kiya, balki usaka apni kavitaaon mein kraantikaari dhang se istemaal karke dikha diya. Baba ki kavitaaon ki lokapriyta ka ek aadhaar unke dvaara kiya gaya chhandon ka sadha hua chamatkaarik prayog bhi hai.[6]
