raajya ke naagrikon ko desh ke samvidhaan dvaara pradatt sarkaar chalaane ke hetu, apne pratinidhi nirvaachit karne ke adhikaar ko mataadhikaar (frainchaaij) kehte hain. janataantrik pranaali mein iska bahut mahatva hota hai. jantantra ki neevan mataadhikaar par hi rakhi jaati hai. is pranaali par aadhaarit samaaj va shaasan ki sthaapana ke liye aavashyak hai ki pratyek vyayask naagrik ko bina kisi bhedabhaav ke mat dene ka adhikaar pradaan kiya jaaya.

samvidhaan laagoo hone ke baad pichhle varshon mein bhaarateeya janta ne apne mataadhikaar ke pavitra karttavya ka samuchit roop se paalan karke pramaanit kar diya hai ki use jantantra mein poorn aastha hai. is drushti se bhi bhaarateeya jantantra ka vishesh mahatva hai.
