makka praant, jise aupachaarik arabi mein mintakaaha makkaah al-mukarrama (مaaنaaطaaقaaة مaaكaaة اaلaمaكaرaمaةa‎a‎) kehte hain, saudi arab ke pashchimi hijaaj kshetr mein laal saagar ke tat ke saath sthit ek praant hai. yeh saudi arab ka sabse adhik janasainkhya wala praant hai aur iski rajdhani islaam ka sabse pavitra shahar makka hai. is praant ka sabse bada shahar jadda hai, jo poore saudi arab ka sab se mukhya bandargaah aur aarthik kendra bhi hai.

saravaat pahaadiyaaain makka praant se gujrati hain aur is praant ka taaif shahar unheen mein sthit hai. yahaaain ka mausam garmiyon mein achha rahata hai isliye saudi sarkaar garmiyon mein apni rajdhani riyaad se hataakar yahaaain kendrit kar leti hai. isliye taaif ko saudi arab ki 'greeshmakaaleen rajdhani' kaha jaata hai.[1]
