mahaaveer jain dharm vartamaan avasarpini kaal ke chaunbeesavein (24vein) teerthankar hai. Bhagwan mahaaveer ka janm kareeb dhaai hajaar saal pehle (isa se 599 varsh poorv), vaishaali ke ganatantr raajya kshatriya kundalapur mein hua tha. mahaaveer ko 'veer', 'ativeer' aur 'sanmati' bhi kaha jaata hai.

teerthankar mahaaveer svaami ahinsa ke moortimaan prateek the. unka jeevan tyaag aur tapasya se otaprot tha. unhonne ek laingoti tak ka parigrah naheen rakha. hinsa, pashubali, jaat-paat ka bhed-bhaav jis yug mein badh gaya, usi yug mein Bhagwan mahaaveer ka janm hua. unhonne duniya ko satya, ahinsa ka paath padhaaya.

unhonne duniya ko jain dharm ke panchasheel siddhaant bataae, jo hai- ahinsa, satya, aparigrah, achaurya (asteya) aur brahmacharya.[1] sabhi jain muni, aaryika, shraavak, shraavika ko in panchasheel gunon ka paalan karna anivaarya hai|[1] mahaaveer ne apne upadeshon aur pravachanon ke maadhyam se duniya ko sahi raah dikhaai aur maargadarshan kiya.

mahaaveer ka janm kareeb dhaai hajaar saal pehle hua tha. isa se 599 varsh pehle vaishaali ganatantr ke kshatriya kundalapur mein pita siddhaarth aur maata trishla ke yahaaain chaitr shukl teras ko varddhamaan ka janm hua. yahi varddhamaan baad mein is kaal ke antim teerthankar mahaaveer svaami bane. jain granthon ke anusaar, 23vein teerthankar paarshvanaath ji ke nirvaan (moksh) praapt ho jaane ke 278 varsh baad inka janm hua tha.[2]

Bhagwan mahaaveer, rishabhadev se praarambh hui vartamaan chaubeesi ke antim teerthankar the.[3] prabhu mahaaveer praarambhik tees varsh raajasi vaibhav evam vilaas ke daladal mein 'kamal' ke samaan rahe.

madhya ke baarah varsh ghanaghor jungle mein mangal saadhana aur aatm jaagruti ki aaraadhana mein, baad ke tees varsh na keval jain jagat ya maanav samudaaya ke liye apitu praani maatr ke kalyaan evam mukti maarg ki prashasti mein vyateet hue.

janakalyaan hetu unhonne chaar teerthon saadhu-saadhvi-shraavak-shraavika ki rachana ki. in sarvodayi teerthon mein kshetr, kaal, samay ya jaati ki seemaaeain naheen theen. Bhagwan mahaaveer ka aatm dharm jagat ki pratyek aatma ke liye samaan tha. duniya ki sabhi aatma ek-si hain isliye ham doosaron ke prati vahi vichaar evam vyavahaar rakhein jo hamein swayam ko pasand ho. yahi mahaaveer ka 'jeeyo aur jeene do' ka siddhaant hai.

itne varshon ke baad bhi Bhagwan mahaaveer ka naam smaran usi shraddha aur bhakti se liya jaata hai, iska mool kaaran yeh hai ki mahaaveer ne is jagat ko na keval mukti ka sandesh diya, apitu mukti ki saral aur sachchi raah bhi bataai. Bhagwan mahaaveer ne aatmik aur shaashvat sukh ki praapti hetu paaainch siddhaant hamein bataae : satya, ahinsa, aparigrah, achaurya aur brahmacharya.

vartamaan mein

vartamaan ashaant, aatanki, bhrasht aur hinsak vaataavaran mein mahaaveer ki ahinsa hi shaanti pradaan kar sakti hai. mahaaveer ki ahinsa keval seedhe vadh ko hi hinsa naheen maanati hai, apitu man mein kisi ke prati bura vichaar bhi hinsa hai. jab maanav ka man hi saaf naheen hoga to ahinsa ko sthaanahi kahaaain?

vartamaan yug mein prachalit naara 'samaajavaad' tab tak saarthak naheen hoga jab tak aarthik vishmata rahegi. ek or athaah paisa, doosari or abhaav. is asamaanata ki khaai ko keval Bhagwan mahaaveer ka 'aparigrah' ka siddhaant hi bhar sakta hai. aparigrah ka siddhaant kam saadhanon mein adhik santushtipr bal deta hai. yeh aavashyakta se jyaada rakhane ki sahamati naheen deta hai. isliye sabko milega aur bharpoor milega.

jab achaurya ki bhaavana ka prachaar-prasaar aur paalan hoga to chori, lootamaar ka bhaya hi naheen hoga. saare jagat mein maanasik aur aarthik shaanti sthaapit hogi. charitra aur sanskaar ke abhaav mein saral, saadageepoorn evam garimaamaya jeevan jeena doobhar hoga. Bhagwan mahaaveer ne hamein amrut kalash hi naheen, uske rasapaan ka maarg bhi bataaya hai.

shiksha

satya

satya ke baare mein Bhagwan mahaaveer svaami kehte hain, he purush! too satya ko hi sachcha tatv samajh. jo buddhimaan satya ki hi aajnyaa mein rahata hai, vah mrutyu ko tairakar paar kar jaata hai.

ahinsa

is lok mein jitne bhi tras jeev (ek, do, teen, chaar aur paaainch indriya vaale jeev) aadi ki hinsa mat kar, unako unke path par jaane se na roko. unke prati apne man mein daya ka bhaav rakho. unki raksha karo. yahi ahinsa ka sandesh Bhagwan mahaaveer apne upadeshon se hamein dete hain.

aparigrah

parigrah par Bhagwan mahaaveer kehte hain jo aadmi khud sajeev ya nirjeev cheejon ka sangrah karta hai, doosaron se aisa sangrah karaata hai ya doosaron ko aisa sangrah karne ki sammati deta hai, usako du:khon se kabhi chhutakaara naheen mil sakta. yahi sandesh aparigrah ka maadhyam se Bhagwan mahaaveer duniya ko dena chaahate hain.

brahmacharya

mahaaveer svaami brahmacharya ke baare mein apne bahut hi amoolya upadesh dete hain ki brahmacharya uttam tapasya, niyam, gyaan, darshan, chaaritr, sanyam aur vinaya ki jad hai. tapasya mein brahmacharya shreshth tapasya hai. jo purush striyon se sambandh naheen rakhate, ve moksh maarg ki or badhte hain.

kshama

kshama ke baare mein Bhagwan mahaaveer kehte hain- 'main sab jeevon se kshama chaahata hooain. jagat ke sabhi jeevon ke prati mera maitreebhaav hai. mera kisi se vair naheen hai. main sachche hrudaya se dharm mein sthir hua hooain. sab jeevon se main saare aparaadhon ki kshama maaaingata hooain. sab jeevon ne mere prati jo aparaadh kiye hain, unhein main kshama karta hooain.'

ve yeh bhi kehte hain 'mainne apne man mein jin-jin paap ki vruttiyon ka sankalp kiya ho, vachan se jo-jo paap vruttiyaaain prakat ki hon aur shareer se jo-jo paapavruttiyaaain ki hon, meri ve sabhi paapavruttiyaaain vifal hon. mere ve saare paap mithya hon.'

dharm

dharm sabse uttam mangal hai. ahinsa, sanyam aur tap hi dharm hai. mahaaveeraji kehte hain jo dharmaatma hai, jiske man mein sada dharm rahata hai, use devata bhi namaskaar karte hain.

Bhagwan mahaaveer ne apne pravachanon mein dharm, satya, ahinsa, brahmacharya aur aparigrah, kshama par sabse adhik jor diya. tyaag aur sanyam, prem aur karuna, sheel aur sadaachaar hi unke pravachanon ka saar tha. Bhagwan mahaaveer ne chaturvidh sangh ki sthaapana ki. desh ke bhinn-bhinn bhaagon mein ghoomkar Bhagwan mahaaveer ne apna pavitra sandesh failaaya.

nirvaan

Bhagwan mahaaveer ne isaapoorv 527, 72 varsh ki aayu mein Bihar ke paavaapuri (raajageer) mein kaartik Krishna amaavasya ko nirvaan (moksh) praapt kiya. unke saath anya koi muni moksh naheen gaye |
