navaraatr-poojan ke chauthe din kooshmaanda devi ke svaroop ki hi upaasana ki jaati hai. is din saadhak ka man 'adaahat' chakr mein avasthit hota hai. at: is din use atyant pavitra aur achanchal man se kooshmaanda devi ke svaroop ko dhyaan mein rakhakar pooja-upaasana ke kaarya mein lagana chaahiye.

jab srushti ka astitv naheen tha, tab inheen devi ne brahmaand ki rachana ki thi. at: ye hi srushti ki aadi-svaroopa, aadishkti hain. inka nivaas sooryamandal ke bheetar ke lok mein hai. vahaaain nivaas kar sakane ki kshamata aur shakti keval inheen mein hai. inke shareer ki kaanti aur prabha bhi soorya ke samaan hi daideepyamaan hain.

inke tej aur prakaash se dason dishaaeain prakaashit ho rahi hain. brahmaand ki sabhi vastuon aur praaniyon mein avasthit tej inheen ki chhaaya hai. maaain ki aath bhujaaeain hain. at: ye ashtabhuja devi ke naam se bhi vikhyaat hain. inke saat haathon mein kramash: kamandal, dhanush, baan, kamal-pushp, amrutapoorn kalash, chakr tatha gada hai. aathavein haath mein sabhi siddhiyon aur nidhiyon ko dene waali japamaala hai. inka vaahan Singh hai.

maaain kooshmaanda ki upaasana se bhakton ke samast rog-shok mit jaate hain. inki bhakti se aayu, yash, bal aur aarogya ki vruddhi hoti hai. maaain kooshmaanda atyalp seva aur bhakti se prasann hone waali hain. yadi manushya sachche hrudaya se inka sharanaagat ban jaae to fir use atyant sugamata se param pad ki praapti ho sakti hai.

vidhi-vidhaan se maaain ke bhakti-maarg par kuchh hi kadam aage badhne par bhakt saadhak ko unki krupa ka sookshm anubhav hone lagta hai. yeh du:kh svaroop sansaar uske liye atyant sukhad aur sugam ban jaata hai. maaain ki upaasana manushya ko sahaj bhaav se bhavasaagar se paar utaarane ke liye sarvaadhik sugam aur shreyaskar maarg hai.

maaain kooshmaanda ki upaasana manushya ko aadhiyon-vyaadhiyon se sarvatha vimukt karke use sukh, samruddhi aur unnati ki or le jaane waali hai. at: apni laukik, paaralaukik unnati chaahane vaalon ko inki upaasana mein sadaiv tatpar rahana chaahiye.

chaturthi ke din maaain kooshmaanda ki aaraadhana ki jaati hai. inki upaasana se siddhiyon mein nidhiyon ko praapt kar samast rog-shok door hokar aayu-yash mein vruddhi hoti hai.[1] pratyek sarvasaadhaaran ke liye aaraadhana yogya yeh shlok saral aur spasht hai . maaain jagadambe ki bhakti paane ke liye ise kanthasth kar navaraatri mein chaturth din iska jaap karna chaahiye.

arth : he maaain! sarvatr [2]viraajamaan aur kooshmaanda ke roop mein prasiddh ambe, aapko mera baar-baar pranaam hai. ya main aapko baaranbaar pranaam karta hooain. he maaain, mujhe sab paapon se mukti pradaan karein.

apni mand, halki hainsi dvaara and arthaat brahmaand ko utpann karne ke kaaran inhein kooshmaanda devi ke roop mein pooja jaata hai. sanskrut bhaasha mein kooshmaanda ko kumhad kehte hain. baliyon mein kumhade ki bali inhein sarvaadhik priya hai. is kaaran se bhi maaain kooshmaanda kahalaati hain.[3]

is din jahaaain tak sambhav ho bade maathe waali tejasvi vivaahit mahila ka poojan karna chaahiye. unhein bhojan mein dahi, halava khilaana shreyaskar hai. iske baad fal, sookhe meve aur saubhaagya ka saamaan bheint karna chaahiye. jisse maataaji prasann hoti hain. aur manavaanchhit falon ki praapti hoti hai.
