dhvani (Sound) ek prakaar ka kampan ya vikshobh hai jo kisi thos, drav ya gas se hokar sanchaarit hoti hai. kintu mukhya roop se un kampanon ko hi dhvani kehte hain jo maanav ke kaan se sunaayi padti hain.

  • kisi bhi tarang (jaise dhvani) ke veg, tarangadairdhya aur aavrutti mein nimnalikhit sanbandh hota hai-

  • apashravya (Infrasonic) 16 Hz se kam aavrutti ki dhvani maanav ko sunaai naheen deti,
  • shravya (sonic) 16 Hz se 20 kHz, ke beech ki aavruttiyon waali dhvani saamaanya maanav ko sunaai deti hai.
  • paraashravya (Ultrasonic) 20 kHz se 1,6 GHz ke beech ki aavrutti ki dhvani maanav ko sunaai naheen padti,
  • atidhvanik (Hypersonic) 1 GHz se adhik aavrutti ki dhvani kisi maadhyam mein keval aanshik roop se hi sancharit (propeget) ho paati hai.
