ankoravaat ke mandir mein chitrit samudra manthan ka drushya, jismein devata aur daitya baasuki naag ko rassi banaakar mandaraachal ki mathani se samudra math rahe hain.

devata, div dhaatu, jiska arth prakaashamaan hona hai, se niklata hai. arth hai koi bhi paraalaukik shakti ka paatr, jo amar aur paraapraakrutik hai aur isaliye poojaneeya hai. devata athva Dave is tarah ke purushon ke liye prayukt hota hai aur devi is tarah ki striyon ke liye. hindu dharm mein devataaon ko ya to parameshvar (brahm) ka laukik roop maana jaata hai, ya to unhein ishvar ka sagun roop maana jaata hai.

devataaon ka vargeekaran

devataaon ka vargeekaran kai prakaar se hua hai, iname chaar prakaar mukhya hai:-

  • pehla sthaan kram se
  • doosra parivaar kram se
  • teesara varg kram se
  • chauthe samooh kram se
  • sthaan kram se varnit devata -- dyusthaaneeya yaani oopari aakaash mein nivaas karne vaale devata, madhyasthaaneeya yaani antariksh mein nivaas karne vaale devata, aur teesare pruthveesthaaneeya yaani pruthvi par rahane vaale devata maane jaate hain.
  • parivaar kram se varnit devata -- in devataaon mein aaditya, vasu, rudr aadi ko gina jaata hai.
  • varg kram se varnit devata -- in devataaon mein indraavarun, mitraavarun aadi devata aate hain.
  • samooh kram se varnit devata -- in devataaon mein sarv deva aadi ki ginti ki jaati hai.

rigved mein devataaon ka sthaan

rigved ke sookton mein devataaon ki stutiyon se devataaon ki pehchaan ki jaati hai, inmein devataaon ke naam agni, vaayu, indr, varun, mitraavarun, ashvineekumaar, vishvadeva, sarasvati, ritu, marut, tvashta, brahamnaspati, som, dakshina indraani, varunaani, dyau, pruthvi, poosha aadi ko pahachaana gaya hai, aur inki stutiyon ka vistrut varnan milta hai. jo log devataaon ki anekata ko nahi maanate hai, ve sab naamon ka arth parabrahm paramaatma vaachak lagaate hai, aur jo alag alag maanate hain ve bhi paramaatmaatmak roop mein inko maanate hai. bhaarateeya gaathaaom aur puraanon mein in devataaon ka maanaveekaran athva purusheekaran hua hai, fir inki moortiyaaain banane lagi, fir inke sampradaaya banane lage, aur alag alag pooja paath hone lage dekhein (hindu dharmashaastr-devi devata), sabse pehle jin devataaon ka vargeekaran hua unamein brahma, vishnu aur Shiv ka udaya hua, iske baad mein lagaataar inki sankhya mein vruddhi hoti chali gayi, niruktakaar yaask ke anusaar," devataaऒ ki utpatti aatma se hi maani gayi hai", devataaon ke sambandh mein yeh bhi kaha jaata hai, ki "tistro devata".arthaat devata teen hai, kintu yeh pradhaan devata hai, jinke prati srushti ka nirmaan, iska paalan aur iska sanhaar kiya jaana maana jaata hai. mahaabhaarat ke (shaanti parv) mein inka varnanakram is prakaar se kiya gaya hai:-

aaditya: kshatriyaasteshaan vishsch marutastatha, ashvinau tu smrutau shoodrau tapasyugre samaasthitau, smrutaastvangirsau deva braahamana iti nishchaya:, ityetat sarv devaanaan chaaturvarneyan prakeertitm

aadityagan kshatriya devata, marudagan vaishya devata, ashvini gan shoodr devata, aur angirs braahaman devata maane gaye hain. shatapath braahman mein bhi isi prakaar se devataaon ko maana gaya hai.

shuddh bahuishvaravaadi dharmon mein devataaon ko poori tarah svatantr maana jaata hai.
