chhath parv ya chhath kaartik shukl ki shashthi ko manaaya jaane wala ek hindu parv hai. sooryopaasana ka yeh anupam lokaparv mukhya roop se poorvi Bhaarat ke Bihar, jhaarakhand, poorvi uttar pradesh aur Nepal ke taraai kshetron mein manaaya jaata hai. praay: hinduon dvaara manaae jaane vaale is parv ko islaam sahit anya dharmaavalanvi bhi manaate dekhe gaye hain.[3] dheere dheere yeh tyauhaar pravaasi bhaarateeyon ke saath saath vishvabhar me prachalit va prasiddh ho gaya hai.[4]

chhath parv kis prakaar manaate hain ?

yeh parv chaar dinonka hai. bhaiyaadooj ke teesare dinse yeh aarambh hota hai. pehle din saindha namak, ghi se bana hua arava chaaval aur kaddooki sabji prasaad ke roop mein li jaati hai. agale dinse upavaas aarambh hota hai. is din raat mein kheer banti hai. vratadhaari raat mein yeh prasaad lete hain. teesare din doobate hue soorya ko arghya yaani doodh arpan karte hain. antim din ugate hue soorya ko arghya chadhaate hain. is pooja mein pavitrata ka dhyaan rakha jaata hai; lahasoon, pyaaj varjya hai. jin gharon mein yeh pooja hoti hai, vahaan bhaktigeet gaae jaate hain. aajkal kuchh nai reetiyaan bhi aarambh ho gayi hain, jaise pandaal aur sooryadevata ki moorti ki sthaapana karna. usapar bhi roshanaai par kaafi kharch hota hai aur subah ke arghyake uparaant aayojanakarta maaik par chillaakar prasaad maangate hain. pataakhe bhi jalaae jaate hain. kaheen-kaheen par to orkestraaka bhi aayojan hota hai; parantu saath hi saath doodh, fal, udabatti bhi baanti jaati hai. pooja ki taiyaari ke liye log milkar poore raaste ki safaai karte hain.

utsav ka svaroop

chhath pooja chaar divseeya utsav hai. iski shuruaat kaartik shukl chaturthi ko tatha samaapti kaartik shukl saptami ko hoti hai. is dauraan vratadhaari lagaataar 36 ghante ka vrat rakhate hain. is dauraan ve paani bhi grahan naheen karte.

nahaaya khaaya

pehla din kaartik shukl chaturthi 'nahaaya-khaaya' ke roop mein manaaya jaata hai. sabse pehle ghar ki safaai kar use pavitra bana liya jaata hai. iske pashchaat chhathavrati snaan kar pavitra tareeke se bane shuddh shaakaahaari bhojan grahan kar vrat ki shuruaat karte hain. ghar ke sabhi sadasya vrati ke bhojanoparaant hi bhojan grahan karte hain. bhojan ke roop mein kaddoo-daal aur chaaval grahan kiya jaata hai. yeh daal chane ki hoti hai.

lohanda aur kharana

doosare din kaarteek shukl panchami ko vratadhaari din bhar ka upavaas rakhane ke baad shaam ko bhojan karte hain. ise 'kharana' kaha jaata hai. kharana ka prasaad lene ke liye aas-paas ke sabhi logon ko nimantrit kiya jaata hai. prasaad ke roop mein ganne ke ras mein bane hue chaaval ki kheer ke saath doodh, chaaval ka pittha aur ghi chupadi roti banaai jaati hai. ismein namak ya cheeni ka upayog naheen kiya jaata hai. is dauraan poore ghar ki svachhata ka vishesh dhyaan rakha jaata hai.

sandhya arghya

teesare din kaartik shukl shashthi ko din mein chhath prasaad banaaya jaata hai. prasaad ke roop mein thekuaa, jise kuchh kshetron mein tikri bhi kehte hain, ke alaava chaaval ke laddoo, jise laduaa bhi kaha jaata hai, banaate hain. iske alaava chadhaava ke roop mein laaya gaya saaaincha aur fal bhi chhath prasaad ke roop mein shaamil hota hai.

shaam ko poori taiyaari aur vyavastha kar baaains ki tokari mein arghya ka soop sajaaya jaata hai aur vrati ke saath parivaar tatha pados ke saare log astaachalagaami soorya ko arghya dene ghaat ki or chal padte hain. sabhi chhathavrati ek neeyat taalaab ya nadi kinaare ikattha hokar saamoohik roop se arghya daan sampann karte hain. soorya ko jal aur doodh ka arghya diya jaata hai tatha chhathi maiya ki prasaad bhare soop se pooja ki jaati hai. is dauraan kuchh ghante ke liye mele ka drushya ban jaata hai.

usha arghya

chauthe din kaartik shukl saptami ki subah udiymaan soorya ko aghrya diya jaata hai. brati vaheen pun: ikttha hote hain jahaaain unhonne shaam ko arghya diya tha. pun: pichhle shaam ki prakriya ki punaraavrutti hoti hai. ant mein vrati kachche doodh ka sharabat peekar tatha thoda prasaad khaakar vrat poorn karte hain.

vrat

chhath utsav ke kendra mein chhath vrat hai jo ek kathin tapasya ki tarah hai. yeh praay: mahilaaon dvaara kiya jaata hai kintu kuchh purush bhi yeh vrat rakhate hain. vrat rakhane waali mahila ko paravaitin bhi kaha jaata hai. chaar dinon ke is vrat mein vrati ko lagaataar upavaas karna hota hai. bhojan ke saath hi sukhad shaiyya ka bhi tyaag kiya jaata hai. parv ke liye banaae gaye kamre mein vrati farsh par ek kanbal ya chaadar ke sahaare hi raat bitaai jaati hai. is utsav mein shaamil hone vaale log nae kapde pahanate hain. par vrati aise kapde pahanate hain, jinmein kisi prakaar ki silaai naheen ki hoti hai. mahilaaen saadi aur purush dhoti pahanakar chhath karte hain. 'shuroo karne ke baad chhath parv ko saalonsaal tab tak karna hota hai, jab tak ki agali peedhi ki kisi vivaahit mahila ko iske liye taiyaar na kar liya jaae. ghar mein kisi ki mrutyu ho jaane par yeh parv naheen manaaya jaata hai.'

aisi maanyata hai ki chhath parv par vrat karne waali mahilaaon ko putr ratn ki praapti hoti hai. putr ki chaahat rakhane waali aur putr ki kushalata ke liye saamaanya taur par mahilaaen yeh vrat rakhati hain. kintu purush bhi yeh vrat poori nishtha se rakhate hain.

soorya pooja ka sandarbh

chhath parv moolat: soorya ki aaraadhana ka parv hai, jise hindu dharm mein vishesh sthaan praapt hai. hindu dharm ke devataaon mein soorya aise devata hain jinhein moort roop mein dekha ja sakta hai.

soorya ki shaktiyon ka mukhya shrot unki patni oosha aur pratyoosha hain. chhath mein soorya ke saath-saath donon shaktiyon ki sanyukt aaraadhana hoti hai. praat:kaal mein soorya ki pehli kiran (oosha) aur saayankaal mein soorya ki antim kiran (pratyoosha) ko aghrya dekar donon ka naman kiya jaata hai.

sooryopaasana ki parampara

Bhaarat mein sooryopaasana rig vaidik kaal se hoti aa rahi hai. soorya aur iski upaasana ki charcha vishnu puraan, bhagavat puraan, brahma vaivart puraan aadi mein vistaar se ki gayi hai. madhya kaal tak chhath sooryopaasana ke vyavasthit parv ke roop mein pratishthit ho gaya, jo abhi tak chala aa raha hai. taalaab mein pooja karte hain.

devata ke roop mein

srushti aur paalan shakti ke kaaran soorya ki upaasana sabhyata ke vikaas ke saath vibhinn sthaanon par alag-alag roop mein praarambh ho gayi, lekin devata ke roop mein soorya ki vandana ka ullekh pehli baar rigaved mein milta hai. iske baad anya sabhi vedon ke saath hi upanishd aadi vaidik granthon mein iski charcha pramukhata se hui hai. nirukt ke rachiyta yaask ne dyusthaaneeya devataaon mein soorya ko pehle sthaan par rakha hai.

maanaveeya roop ki kalpana

uttar vaidik kaal ke antim kaalakhand mein soorya ke maanaveeya roop ki kalpana hone lagi. isne kaalaantar mein soorya ki moorti pooja ka roop le liya. pauraanik kaal aate-aate soorya pooja ka prachalan aur adhik ho gaya. anek sthaanon par soorya Dave ke mandir bhi banaae gaye.

aarogya devata ke roop mein

pauraanik kaal mein soorya ko aarogya devata bhi maana jaane laga tha. soorya ki kirnon mein kai rogon ko nasht karne ki kshamata pai gayi. rishi-muniyon ne apne anusandhaan ke kram mein kisi khaas din iska prabhaav vishesh paaya. sambhavat: yahi chhath parv ke udbhav ki bela rahi ho. Bhagwan Krishna ke pautr shaamb ko kushth ho gaya tha. is rog se mukti ke liye vishesh sooryopaasana ki gayi, jiske liye shaakya dweep se braahmanon ko bulaaya gaya tha.

pauraanik aur lok kathaaeain

chhath pooja ki parampara aur uske mahatva ka pratipaadan karne waali anek pauraanik aur lok kathaaeain prachalit hain.

raamaayan se

ek maanyata ke anusaar lanka vijay ke baad raamaraajya ki sthaapana ke din kaartik shukl shashthi ko Bhagwan Ram aur maata seeta ne upavaas kiya aur sooryadev ki aaraadhana ki. saptami ko sooryodaya ke samay pun: anushthaan kar sooryadev se aashirvaad praapt kiyaatha.

mahaabhaarat se

ek anya maanyata ke anusaar chhath parv ki shuruaat mahaabhaarat kaal mein hui thi. sabse pehle soorya putr karn ne soorya Dave ki pooja shuroo ki. karn Bhagwan soorya ka param bhakt tha. vah pratidin ghanton kamar tak paani mein khde hokar soorya ko arghya deta tha. soorya ki krupa se hi vah mahaan yoddha bana tha. aaj bhi chhath mein arghya daan ki yahi paddhati prachalit hai.

kuchh kathaaon mein paandavon ki patni dropadi dvaara bhi soorya ki pooja karne ka ullekh hai. ve apne parijanon ke uttam svaasthya ki kaamna aur lambi umr ke liye niyamit soorya pooja karti theen.

puraanon se

ek katha ke anusaar raaja priyvad ko koi santaan naheen thi, tab maharshi kashyap ne putreshti yagya karaakar unki patni maalini ko yajnyaaahuti ke liye banaai gayi kheer di. iske prabhaav se unhein putr hua parantu vah mrut paida hua. priyvad putr ko lekar shmashaan gaye aur putr viyog mein praan tyaagane lage. usi vakt Bhagwan ki maanas kanya devasena prakat hui aur kaha ki srushti ki mool pravrutti ke chhathe ansh se utpann hone ke kaaran main shashthi kahalaati hoon. raajan tum mera poojan karo tatha aur logon ko bhi prerit karo. raaja ne putr ichha se devi shashthi ka vrat kiya aur unhein putr ratn ki praapti hui. yeh pooja kaartik shukl shashthi ko hui thi.

saamaajik/saanskrutik mahatva

chhath pooja ka sabse mahatvapoorn paksh iski saadagi pavitrata aur lokapaksh hai. bhakti aur aadhyaatm se paripoorn is parv ke liye na vishaal pandaalon aur bhavya mandiron ki jaroorat hoti hai na aishvarya yukt moortiyon ki. bijli ke lattuon ki chakaachaundh, pataakhon ke dhamaake aur laaudaspeekar ke shor se door yeh parv baaains nirmit soop, tokari, mitti ke baratanon, ganne ke ras, gud, chaaval aur gehooain se nirmit prasaad aur sumadhur lokageeton se yukt hokar lok jeevan ki bharpoor mithaas ka prasaar karta hai.

lokaparv chhath ke vibhinn avsaron par jaise prasaad banaate samay, kharana ke samay, arghya dene ke liye jaate hue, arghya daan ke samay aur ghaat se ghar lautate samay anekon sumadhur aur bhakti bhaav se poorn lokageet gaae jaate hain.
