chennai havaai adde ka aadhunikeekaran aur vistaar hona tay hua hai. bhaarateeya vimaanapattan praadhikran dvaara yeh kaarya kiya jaana hai, jismein samaanaantar daud path, taxi path, pattiyaan aur nae yaatri terminal imaaraton ka nirmaan shaamil hai. vistaar kaaryon mein aas-paas ke ilaakon ki jameen ka adhigrahan bhi shaamil hoga. maujooda havaai adde ka vistaaran shreeperoomabadoor taaluka mein manapakkam, kolaapakkam, geroogamabakkam aur thaaraapakkam mein, sarkaar dvaara is aashay ka sankalp paarit hone ke baad kiya jaaega.

vartamaan vikaas pariyojanaaon mein ek naveen ghareloo terminal ka nirmaan aur maujooda antarraashtreeya terminal ka vistaar shaamil hai. yeh design chaar vyaavasaayik companiyon ka sahayogi prayaas hai. jabki hargreevs esosiyets ne paridrushya design taiyaar kiya hai, jeinsalar aur fredarik shavaartj aarkitekts yaatri terminal bhavanon, parking garaaj sanrachana aur sadak abhigm pranaali ke design ke liye jimmedaar hain. pariyojana ke liye kriyetiv samooh sthaaneeya aarkitekt hoga. prastaavit design ko maujooda terminal design tatvon ke saath joda jaaega. yeh pehle bataaya gaya ki naveen terminal bhavan ke paas kareeb 10 karod yaatriyon ko sambhaalne ki kshamata hogi aur maujooda terminalon ke saath ekeekrut karne ke baad yeh saalaana 23 karod yaatriyon ko sambhaalne ki kshamata pradaan karega. naveen terminal bhavanon ke liye kareeb 1,40,000 varg meter kshetr hone ki sambhaavana hai jismein 140 jaanch kaauntar aur 60 apravaasan kaauntar aur taxi pathon ke network se jude do daud path honge. is terminal parisar mein ek flyover treveletar hoga, jo ghareloo terminal aur antarraashtreeya terminal ka sanyojak hoga aur iski lambaai kareeb 1 ki॰mee॰ hogi. ismein oonchi sadak ka nirmaan kiya jaaega aur oopar ek tube ke neeche do vaakaletars honge.[8]

chennai antarraashtreeya havaai adde ke kaargo parisar mein ek ekeekrut kaargo parisar ka nirmaan kiya jaaega. is parisar ka nirmaan 15 maheenon mein 145 karod rupayon ki laagat par kiya jaaega. jabki nichli manjil 21,000 varg meter aakaar ki hogi, pehli manjil ka nirmaan 12,100 varg meter par kiya jaaega. nae bhavan ka prayog vishesh roop se aayaat gatividhiyon ke liye kiya jaaega. ek baar civil kaarya poora hone ke saath hi, svachaalit sangrahan aur punarpraapti pranaali sthaapit ki jaaegi. iski laagat 75 karod rupaye hogi.[10]

Tamil Nadu ke mukhyamantri M. Karunanidhi ne ghoshana ki hai ki tiroosoolam mein maujooda havaai adde ke vistaar ke alaava shreeperoomabadoor aur tiroovalloor taaluka mein ek naveen greenafeeld havaai adde ko sthaapit kiya jaaega.

greenafeeld havaai adde ka nirmaan 3,486.66 ekad (14.1100 kimi2) tak hoga, vaheen chennai havaai adde ka vistaar 1,069.99 ekad (4.3301 kimi2) par kiya jaaega, jiski anumaanit laagat 2,000 karod hogi.

praarambh mein greenafeeld havaai addon ka nirmaan kaarya Bhaarat ke vimaanapattan praadhikran (AAI) ko saunpa jaana tha. lekin chennai ke kareeb shreeperoomabadoor mein greenafeeld havaai adde ka vikaas ek saarvajanik-niji bhaageedaari ke tahat kiya jaaega. pradhaanamantri ki samiti ne bhi is havaai adde ke liye poorv vyavahaaryata report ki maang ki hai.

jahaan antarraashtreeya naagar vimaanan sangathan (ICAO) ne is pariyojana ke liye takaneeki aarthik vyavahaaryata ke adhyayan ki shurooaat ki hai, vaheen keindreeya naagrik uddayan mantraalaya ke ek varishth adhikaari ne kaha ki sarkaar kaayal hai ki tatkaal is shahar mein doosare havaai adde ki koi aavashyakta naheen hai, kyonki meenamabaakkam mein maujooda havaai adde ka vistaar kiya ja raha hai.[11]
