bruhadaaranyak upanisht shukl yajurved se juda ek upanishd hai . yeh ati praacheen hai aur ismein jeev, brahmaand aur braahman (ishvar) ke baare mein kai baate kaheen gain hai . daarshanik roop se mahatvapoorn is upanishd par aadi shankaraachaarya ne bhi teeka likhi thi . yeh shatapath braahman granth ka ek khand hai aur isko shatapath braahman ke paath mein sammilit kiya jaata hai .

yajurved ke prasiddh purush sookt ke atirikt ismein ashvamedh, asato ma sadagamaya, neti neti jaise vishay hain . ismein rishi yaajnyaavalkya aur maitreyi ka samvaad hai jo atyant kramabaddh aur yuktipoorn hai.

yeh shok-moh-rahit, vijvar aur vilkshan aanand ki sthiti hai jisse brahm ko 'vijnyaaanamaanandanbrahm' kaha gaya hai. yeh svaroop man aur indriyon ke agochar aur keval samaadhi mein pratyakshaanubhooti ka vishay evam naamaroop se pare hone ke kaaran, brahm ka 'neti neti' shabdon dvaara antim nirdesh hai.

aatmasaakshaatkaar ke liye vedaanubandhan, yagya, daan aur tapopavaasaadi se chittashuddhi karke soorya, chandra, vidyut, aakaash, vaayu, jal ityaadi athva praanaroop se brahm ki upaasana ka nirdesh karte hue aatmachintan sarvashreshth upaasana batalaai gayi hai.
