naabhikeeya bhautiki mein, beeta kshaya (beeta-DK) ek prakaar ka rediyodharmi kshaya hota hai, jismein beeta kan (ek vidyudanu (ilektraun) ya ek dhanaanu (paujitraun)) utsarjit hote hain. yeh do prakaar ka hota hai. vidyudanu utsarjan hone par, ise beeta-rin (β) kehte hain, jabki dhanaanu utsarjan hone par ise beeta dhan (β+) kehte hain. beeta kanon ki gatij oorja lagaataar varnakram ki hoti hai aur iska paraas shoonya se adhiktam upalabdh oorja tak hota hai.
