aamer Jaipur nagar seema me hi sthit upanagar hai, ise meena raaja aalan Singh ne basaaya tha, kam se kam 967 isvi se yeh nagar maujood raha hai, ise 1037 isvi me rajput jaati ke kachhaava kul ne jeet liya tha. aamer nagari aur vahaaain ke mandir tatha kile raajapooti kala ka adviteeya udaaharan hai. yahaaain ka prasiddh durg aaj bhi aitihaasik filmon ke nirmaataaon ko shooting ke liye aamantrit karta hai. mukhya dwaar ganesh pol kahalaata hai, jiski nakkaashi atyant aakarshak hai.[1] yahaaain ki deevaaron par kalaatmak chitr banaae gaye the aur kehte hain ki un mahaan kaareegaron ki kala se mugal baadshah jahaangeer itna naaraaj ho gaya ki usane in chitron par plaastar karva diya. ye chitr dheere-dheere plaastar ukhadne se ab dikhaai dene lage hain. aamer mein hi hai chaalees khambon wala vah sheesh mahal, jahaaain maachis ki teeli jalaane par saare mahal mein deepaavaliyaaain aalokit ho uthati hai. haathi ki savaari yahaaain ke vishesh aakarshan hai, jo deshi sailaaniyon se adhik videshi paryatakon ke liye kautoohal aur aanand ka vishay hai.[2] The fort borders the Maota Lake, and is a major tourist attraction in Rajasthan.[3]

praacheen kaal mein aamer ko ambaavati, amarapura tatha amaragadh ke naam se jaana jaata tha.[4] kuchh logon ko kehna hai ki ambakeshvar Bhagwan Shiv ke naam par yeh nagar "aamer" bana, parantu adhikaansh log aur taarkik arth ayodhya ke raaja bhakt ambareesh ke naam se jodte hain. kehte hain bhakt ambareesh ne deen-dukhiyon ke liye raajya ke bhare hue kothaar aur godaam khol rakhe the. sab taraf sukh aur shaanti thi parantu raajya ke kothaar deen-dukhiyon ke liye khaali hote rahe. bhakt ambareesh se jab unke pita ne poochh-taachh ki to ambareesh ne sir jhukaakar uttar diya ki ye godaam Bhagwan ke bhakton ke godaam hai aur unke liye sadaiv khule rahane chaahiye. bhakt ambareesh ko raajya ke hiton ke viruddh kaarya karne ke liye aaropi thaharaaya gaya aur jab godaamon mein I maal ki kami ka byaura ankit kiya jaane laga to log aur karmachaari yeh dekhkar dang rah gaye ki kal tak jo godaam aur kothaar khaali pade the, vahaaain achaanak raat bhar mein maal kaise bhar gaya.

bhakt ambareesh ne ise ishvar ki krupa kaha. chamatkaar tha yeh bhakt ambareesh ka aur unki bhakti ka. raaja natamastak ho gaya. usi vakt ambareesh ne apni bhakti aur aaraadhana ke liye araavali pahaadi par is sthaan ko chuna, unke naam se kaalaantar mein apabhransh hota hua ambareesh se "aamer" ya "aamber" ban gaya.

aamber devi ke mandir ke kaaran desh bhar mein vikhyaat hai. sheela-maata ka prasiddh yeh Dave-sthal bhakton ki manokaamana poorn karne, devi chamatkaaron ke kaaran shraddha ka kendra hai.[5] sheela-maata ki moorti atyant manohaari hai aur shaam ko yahaaain dhoopabattiyon ki sugandh mein jab aarti hoti hai to bhaktajan kisi alaukik shakti se bhakt-gan prabhaavit hue bina naheen rahate. devi ki aarti aur aahvaan se jaise mandir ka vaataavaran ekdam shakti se bhar jaata hai. romaanch ho aata hai, rongate khade ho jaate hain aur ek ajeeb si sihran saare shareer mein daud jaati hai. poora maahaul chamatkaari ho jaata hai. nikat mein hi vahaaain jagat shiromani ka vaishnav mandir hai, jiska toran safed sangamaramar ka bana hai aur uske donon or haathi ki vishaal pratimaaeain hain.[6]

iski bheetari deevaaron, gumbadon aur chhaton par sheeshe ke tukade is prakaar jade gaye hain ki keval kuchh momabattiyaaain jalaate hi sheeshon ka pratibimb poore kamre ko prakaash se jagamag kar deta hai.

aamber ka kila apne sheesh mahal ke kaaran bhi prasiddh hai. iski bheetari deevaaron, gumbadon aur chhaton par sheeshe ke tukade is prakaar jade gaye hain ki keval kuchh momabattiyaaain jalaate hi sheeshon ka pratibimb poore kamre ko prakaash se jagamag kar deta hai. sukh mahal va kile ke baahar jheel baag ka sthaapatya apoorv hai.[7]

bhakti aur itihaas ke paavan sangam ke roop mein sthit aamer nagari apne vishaal praasaadon va un par ki gayi sthaapatya kala ki aakarshak pachcheekaari ke kaaran paryatakon ke liye aakarshan ka kendra bana hua hai. patthar ke meharaabon ki kaat-chhaaaint dekhte hi banti hai. yahaaain ka vishesh aakarshan hai doli mahal, jiska aakaar us doli (paalaki) ki tarah hai, jinmein praacheen kaal mein raajapooti mahilaaeain aaya-jaaya karti theen. inheen mahalon mein pravesh dwaar ke andar doli mahal se poorv ek bhool-bhoolaiya hai, jahaaain raaje-mahaaraaje apni raaniyon aur pattaraaniyon ke saath aaainkh-michauni ka khel khela karte the. kehte hain mahaaraaja maan Singh ki kai raaniyaaain theen aur jab raaja maan Singh yuddh se vaapas lautakar aate the to yeh sthiti hoti thi ki vah kis raani ko sabse pehle milne jaaeain. isliye jab bhi koi aisa mauka aata tha to raaja maan Singh is bhool-bhoolaiya mein idhar-udhar ghoomate the aur jo raani sabse pehle dhooaindh leti thi use hi pratham milan ka sukh praapt hota tha.

yeh kahaavat bhi prasiddh hai ki Akbar aur Mansingh ke beech ek gupt samjhauta yeh tha ki kisi bhi yuddh se vijayi hone par vahaaain se praapt sampatti mein se bhoomi aur heere-javaaharaat baadshah Akbar ke hisse mein aaegi tatha shesh anya khajaana aur mudraaeain raaja maan Singh ki sammati hogi. is prakaar ki sampatti praapt karke hi raaja maan Singh ne samruddhashaali Jaipur raajya ka sanchalan kiya tha. aamer ke mahalon ke peechhe dikhaai deta hai naaharagadh ka aitihaasik kila, jahaaain arabon rupae ki sampatti jameen mein gadi hone ki sambhaavana aur aashanka vyakt ki jaati hai.
